Amanda and Matt came to me with a true vision for what they wanted from their session, and we got to work brainstorming how to bring it to life! For the first half of their session, they wanted to use the classic architecture and designs of historic downtown St. Louis buildings.
We wanted to play up more intimacy and romance with an indoor setting, and capitalize on the upscale vibes of city architecture for outdoor shots.
After scouting a bunch of buildings and locations, we settled on a walking path around downtown that took us between two historic hotels – Hotel St. Louis, and Magnolia Hotel.
Using the lobby mezzanine at Hotel St Louis, we focused on romantic prompts and poses within the hotel, taking advantage of the grand piano and the historic gilded elevators!
Once we left Hotel St. Louis, we strolled through downtown, passing by the stunning columns of a few banking buildings, and the Old Post Office of St. Louis!
We ended at the Magnolia Hotel, using the gorgeous entrance and marquee sign!
For the final portion of Amanda and Matt’s session, we headed to the Art Museum in Forest Park for sunset and after dark photos! We went for a paparazzi vibe with the direct flash photos, and they absolutely killed it!
